Albert Castiglia

(Pronounced ‘ka-steel-ya’) Born on August 12, 1969 in New York, New York and moved to Miami, Florida at age 5. Albert began learning to play guitar at 7.

Albert joined the Miami Blues Authority in 1990 and won  Best Blues Guitarist in 1997 by Miami New Times. While working as a Social Services Investigator and playing out, Albert came to the attention of Junior Wells in 1996. He joined Junior’s band as lead guitarist and stayed in the role until Junior’s death in 1998. “Godfather of the Blues” is Albert’s tribute to Junior found on his “These Are The Days” release.

Albert signed with Ruf Records in 2014 and released his 7th album “Solid Ground“. He would go on to release three more albums with Ruf Records. Albert’s most recent release, “Masterpiece” on Gulf Coast Records, is noted to be one of the top 10 Blues releases of 2019.
